7 WAYS TO ALIGN WITH YOUR HIGHER SELF

Imagine yourself without any limitations of your physical body and your thinking mind.
Imagine that fear was not a problem.
Imagine you knew what your life purpose is and how to fulfill it.
Imagine you loved yourself unconditionally that this love would open you to welcome the changes you want to see in your life.
It is all possible when you are in harmony with your higher self. Your higher self is the eternal and omnipotent part of you. Helena Blavatsky, a Russian philosopher, defined the higher self as “the inseparable ray of the Universe and oneself.”
When you align yourself with this true nature of who you really are, you will not only achieve real (not dependable on others) happiness but you will also master the art of manifesting the life that you really want.

When you set the intention to reconnect with this eternal, loving, and compassionate self, you will attract into your life everything you dream of. You will feel a sense of fulfillment, a sense of living in alignment with your truth. Maybe right now you don’t even know what your truth is. That’s fine.
Once you set the intention to reconnect with your higher self, you will rediscover what that truth is and you will embark on a journey to live a life that will reflect who you truly are.
Sounds beautiful, right? So what is this higher self? Why aren’t we connected to it on a daily basis? Why is it difficult to keep that connection alive?
What is your higher self?
Your higher self is the eternal you. It is this part of you that is connected to all things. It loves you unconditionally and sees you as the limitless, powerful being that you truly are. Your higher self knows your struggles and your lessons to learn and it is always willing and ready to help you.
When you are uplifted, happy, and completely present in the moment, you are connected to your higher self. You might remember the moments from your life when everything just seemed to flow effortlessly.
These are the moments when you were connected to your higher self. You might have not realised that as you were simply happy and at peace. Happiness, peace and joy for no apparent reason are the signs that you are in connection with your higher self.
Why aren’t we connected to our higher self on a daily basis?
Your higher self is anchored to you through your heart chakra. It is always there and always ready to help you. Sometimes we struggle to hear the voice of our higher self because it speaks to us through gut feelings, hunches, and intuition. It takes silence and stillness to hear it.
If you want to raise your vibrations and hear these gentle whispers of your higher self, you need to become an observer of your mind and your emotions.
Once you are a silent watcher of what’s happening inside you, you free yourself from the chaos of your thoughts and emotions. Behind all this chaos, you will find peace and quietness. Only then you will be able to hear the gentle voice of your true self.
As you can imagine, it is very easy to lose the connection with your higher self with all the ups and downs of daily life. Whenever you are upset or worried, you automatically disconnect with this eternal part of you.
Especially the thoughts of fear or worry gather momentum really quickly in our subconscious mind. Once they are there, they get louder and louder and they make it impossible for you to hear the gentle whispers of your inner self.
The good news is, you can always reconnect with your higher self. You can always decide to leave the worrying and fear behind and set the intention that you want to reconnect with this omnipotent and loving part of you.
Your higher self has many names. You can call it your soul or your divine self. The higher self is the part of you that sees your life, quite literally, from a higher perspective.
It is not influenced by your daily ups and downs. It sees the bigger picture and it knows your life purpose. That’s why being connected to this wise, eternal and loving part of you, will set you free from a lot of daily struggles that can lead to a lot of stress and mental health problems.

Ways to reconnect with your higher self
This reservoir of infinite power is always there waiting for you to acknowledge it. Your spiritual being is much bigger than what you see when you look in the mirror.
Here are 5 ways of getting in touch with this divine side of you.
1. Meditate, meditate, and once again…meditate
There is a reason why I mention meditation in almost every single article. Meditation allows you to silent your mind and detach from thoughts and emotions. If you want to reach new spiritual heights, meditation is a necessary practice to incorporate into your everyday life. You can listen to this Start with Self meditation that will help you come back home to yourself.
Here is also a meditation script that I wrote to help you reconnect with your higher self.
1. Sit down in a comfortable position and close your eyes. Bring your attention to your breath and let the rhythm of your own breath carry you towards more calmness and stillness. Every breath in fills you up with calmness and every breath out releases anxiety, worry, and anything that is blocking you from reconnecting with your higher self.
2. Now bring your attention to your heart and set the intention to reconnect with your higher self.
3. Imagine your higher self and yourself just without the constraints of your physical body, without your thoughts and your ego. Imagine yourself as the light being that you truly are.
4. Now simply talk to your higher self. Tell it your worries and your dreams. Ask it for advice about something you need help with. Your higher self is the wise, loving, and caring part of you. Your higher self knows your potential and your life purpose. It is the best advisor you will ever have.
5. Be open to receiving a message from your higher self. Your higher self might speak to you through words, symbols, images, and feelings. Sometimes the answer comes very quickly but sometimes you have to wait until you are in a more receptive mode. The language of your higher self in gentleness and you have to be able to quiet your noisy mind in order to receive the message your higher self might be trying to communicate to you.
6. Thank your higher self. Your higher self is always listening and it is always there waiting for your invitation to receive its help. At the end of the meditation remember to say thank you for its continuous help and unconditional love towards you.
2. Choose love instead of fear
Once you set the intention to reconnect with your higher self, it is important to make a conscious decision to be in the zone of love instead of fear.
Fear blocks you from being truly you that is a powerful being of light. Love opens your up and fills you with courage, faith, and feelings of oneness with everything that there is.
Monitor your thoughts and feelings and make it your priority to create your reality from a position of love. It will open you up to be fully aligned with your higher self.
3. Abandon victim mentality
“When you think everything is someone else’s fault, you will suffer a lot. When you realize that everything springs only from yourself, You will learn both peace and joy.” – The 14th Dalai Lama
If you want to raise your vibrations and achieve harmony with your higher self, you need to release the victim mentality.
Being reunited with your higher self means reconnection with your inner power. There is no space for blaming others. You are the only creator of your reality and only you can open the gate to an even more beautiful and fulfilling life. 4. Reconnect with nature
Do your best to spend as much time in nature as you can. Go for a walk in your favourite park, wet your feet in a stream, go bushwalking.
Stay in touch with Mother Nature and feel a connection with other living beings inhabiting this Planet. We are all one, connected on an energetic level. Reminding yourself of this truth will get you closer to becoming one with your higher self.
5. Do something relaxing
When you are relaxed, your vibrations rise and you become automatically more connected with your higher self.
Recently I fell in love with baths with a few drops of essential oils. I also like colouring in. My mind slows down and I am more still and at peace. Colouring in also nourishes my inner child. I used to absolutely love this activity as a child too and I feel that little Ola is very happy that I’ve come back to it.
Think of something that makes you feel relaxed. Maybe it is drawing, playing a musical instrument, taking a bath, going for a walk in nature or perhaps dancing to your favourite music. Whatever works for you, make it your priority to find time to do it regularly.
Peace and joy that you feel when doing what you love, will help you stay in touch with your higher self.
6. Practice gratitude
You cannot underestimate the practice of gratitude on your journey of raising your vibrations. Gratitude will strip you of your limitations, victim mentality, and poverty thinking. German philosopher and mystic, Meister Ekhart said: “If the only prayer you said was thank you, that would be enough.”
Expressing gratitude will open your heart and fill you with the energy of light. Being open and full of love and light will reunite you with your higher self. Your higher self IS love and light.
Every day write a list of things, people, feelings you are grateful for and you might notice the shift in your energy sooner than you think.
7. Nourish self-love
If you truly want to reconnect with your higher self, you need to develop more self-love. Your higher self has unconditional love towards you. When you are in the zone of self-criticism and negative thoughts about yourself and your life, you cannot access this pure energy of love.
You cannot rise above the limitations of your thinking mind and beliefs if you constantly bully yourself. Try loving yourself instead and see how it impacts your life.

Sometimes it is not easy to see the bigger picture. We get so entangled in the little daily things. We get consumed by our frustrations, worries, and triggers that we forget that within us there is this eternal, omnipotent part of us that knows our full potential and knows what to do to keep us going towards fulfillment and happiness.
